THEATER ARTS

Education in the performing arts is a key part of Kingwood Montessori and the Montessori curriculum for Elementary students. The performing arts include dance, music, and theatre. All Elementary students participate in two plays and performances a year. This engagement through participation frequently becomes lifelong, as students build confidence in themselves as actors and public speakers.

The endpoint for performing arts education varies, for some people it is part of their engagement in their own and others culture, such as that of indigenous peoples and folklore. For others, it enhances their study of literature, such as with Shakespeare, and it often leads the students to confidently participate at high school and college levels.
